Can You Run 2 Different Graphics Cards at Once

Hi there,

Quick question, would it exist fine to run two different graphics cards at once?
I upgraded from a GeForce GTS 450 to a GeForce GTX 650 over the weekend and realized now that my motherboard allows two graphics cards.

Would it be fine on my PC to run the two different cards at in one case?

Yous would not become any added performance in games by running the 2 cards, and might actually get lower performance, since both slots would be running at x8/x8 speed as opposed to one slot running at x16. You should exist fine if you choose to run both cards, since the 650 doesnt accept enough power to saturate the slot.

You tin can dedicate the old card to Physx, only this merely really applies if you play games with Physx.

What is information technology you are thinking of doing with 2 cards? You could dedicate the erstwhile one as a physx carte du jour, if yous play any games that crave or can make use of a defended physx gpu. Other than that, there isnt much you can do with these 2 together.

Y'all can either dedicate the old carte du jour to physx (have the new menu in the top slot, plug the monitor in to the new bill of fare, put the old carte in the 2d slot), or run actress monitors off the second card without it doing annihilation in games.
