Photoshop and Lightroom
Photoshopis Adobe's photograph editing, image creation and graphic design software. What makes a stiff image?It should accept a visual and/or emotional response.
It should convey: Originality; A potent message or emotion; Good limerick ; Technical skills. (less important than the story or the emotional impact)
This is only a basic listing. Remember - Judges are not machines and nosotros have diverse opinions. If you think your image can do improve, and so enter it in some other competition.
My Basic Editing.
Use RAW whenever possible as your camera captures more than information.
I utilize the AUTO processing in RAW, and so 'dial' back some settings, particularly any brightness. Use common sense! Then I arrange in Photoshop etc; Bank check Dissimilarity; Take out any distractions particularly around the borders (Yous tin can't do this in Natural History and some landscape competitions) - check the rules; Crop; Acuminate last; Read the rules again to make sure your image fits the criteria, and size your image correctly.
I ofttimes use NIK 'highlights and Shadows' from Colour Efex Pro. It creates a very detached vignette around your image and tin can lighten the small area where I want a person to await. Conform the sliders accordingly.
